Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Setup Operator to join our precision manufacturing team in Garland, TX. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for the efficient setup, operation, and maintenance of advanced CNC machinery (Mills, Lathes, or both) to produce high-quality, precision components that meet strict engineering specifications. This role requires exceptional mechanical aptitude, rigorous attention to detail, and expertise in interpreting complex technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities

Machine Setup & Programming:
-
Set up CNC machines (e.g., mills, lathes) for production runs, including mounting and aligning fixtures, loading tools, and ensuring proper workholding.

Perform tool wear offsets and execute G-code/M-code edits as necessary to optimize machining processes and improve cycle times.

Load and verify programs according to job orders and engineering specifications.

Operation & Quality Control:

Operate CNC equipment through production runs, closely monitoring machine performance, tool life, and material feed rates.

Execute First-Piece Inspections (FPI) using a variety of precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMM) to ensure dimensional accuracy.

Adjust machine parameters and make immediate corrections to maintain required quality and tight tolerances.

Documentation & Safety:

Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.

Document quality checks and machine logs accurately.

Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, maintaining a clean, organized, and FOD (Foreign Object Debris)-free work cell.

Maintenance:

Perform routine daily and weekly preventative maintenance checks on machines.

Communicate machine malfunctions or maintenance needs proactively to supervision.

Qualifications
-
Experience & Technical Skills:
-
1-2 years of verifiable experience setting up and operating CNC machining centers (VMCs, HMCs, Lathes, or Multitasking Machines).

Proven ability to interpret and apply GD&T to inspect finished parts.

Demonstrated proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).

Familiarity with common CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Siemens ).
