Celebrating Our Heritage: Stories from the Core Personnel Team
Core Personnel • October 5, 2026
Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15) is a time to honor the cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. At Core Personnel, those roots are part of who we are, and they show up every day in how we welcome candidates and support our clients.
We asked our team one question: What aspect of your Hispanic heritage are you most proud of, and how has it influenced who you are today? Here's what they shared.
Paola Martinez - Staffing Recruiter
"Born and raised in Mexico, I feel deeply proud of my roots, our joy, our cuisine, and the warmth with which we treat others. I apply that same empathy every day in my work. It fills my heart to see a candidate's face light up when they realize we can speak in Spanish and that they can express their work experience without language barriers. For me, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month means honoring that human connection and serving our community with pride."
Frances Alvarez - Administrative Assistant

"I am from Venezuela. I was born and raised holding close to my heart the memories of going to the beach with my family. To me, Venezuela means brotherhood, closeness, warmth, and home. Every candidate who comes to my desk receives a piece of that beach-inspired warmth that I carry in my Venezuelan heart."
Wendy Coreas - Staffing Recruiter
"I am proud to be Hispanic and Salvadoran because of our beautiful culture, delicious food, strong sense of community, and the richness of our land. I am proud of our beautiful beaches, landscapes, volcanoes, and traditions. My roots are an important part of who I am, and I will always carry El Salvador in my heart with love and pride."
Lucia Apaza - Website SEO/SEM Specialist
"I'm most proud of the resilience and adaptability that are part of my Hispanic heritage. Growing up in Peru and later experiencing life in different cultures has taught me to embrace change, work hard, and approach new experiences with an open mind."
Jonatan Ibarra - Director of Safety, Risk Compliance, & Training
"I'm most proud of the values my Hispanic heritage gave me: work hard and look out for each other. Nothing is given; it's earned. I bring that mindset to every day, giving my best and always being there for the people around me."
Joshua Tejada - Account Manager & Field Safety Coordinator
"Growing up with a strong Hispanic heritage has influenced me by teaching me the importance of hard work, perseverance, and determination. I was raised to believe that no matter what obstacles are placed in my way, I should continue pushing forward and never give up. These values have shaped the person I am today and continue to influence how I approach my career, my responsibilities, and the challenges I face in life. Having a great team is always a big help."
Amalia Hernandez - Branch Manager
"For me, Hispanic Heritage Month is all about family, hard work, and holding onto where we come from.
My story starts in Mexico City, with roots tied to my parents' home states of Guerrero and Michoacán. Growing up as part of an immigrant family, I saw firsthand the incredible sacrifices my parents and grandparents made when they came to the U.S. They left everything behind to give us a better future. No matter how far from home we were, they made sure our culture stayed alive in our house every day. Seeing their relentless work ethic, humble spirits, and pride in our roots shaped who I am today.
What am I most proud of? It's the way our Mexican culture brings people together. I love sharing our traditional dishes with my kids, friends, and co-workers—there's nothing better than watching someone take that first bite of a home-cooked meal made with love! I'm also proud of the natural beauty of Mexico, especially life at the rancho. Life there is simple and honest. You slow down, wake up to the sound of roosters instead of an alarm clock, eat real organic food, ride horses and donkeys, be around farm animals, and experience the warmth of people who welcome you with open arms.
Our music, traditional dances, and stories passed down from our ancestors are the heartbeat of who I am. My heritage taught me to work hard, put family first, and always make people feel welcome. Every day, I try to pass those same values down to my kids and bring that same spirit to how I lead my team."
Carrying Our Roots Forward
