**Job Summary**
The Forklift Operator/Warehouse Associate is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials, inventory, and products within a warehouse or distribution center. This role involves operating a forklift and other equipment, as well as performing a variety of physical and administrative tasks to support warehouse operations.
* **Forklift Operation:**
* Safely and skillfully operate a forklift (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, cherry picker) to load, unload, stack, and stage materials.
* Transport raw materials, finished products, and other goods to and from designated areas.
* Inspect and perform routine maintenance checks on the forklift before each use, reporting any mechanical issues or damages.
* Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies for operating heavy machinery.
* **Warehouse Duties:**
* Receive incoming shipments, verifying and documenting the quantity and condition of goods.
* Prepare and fulfill orders by picking, packing, and staging products for shipment.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
* Manually lift, carry, and move products of various sizes and weights, often up to 50 pounds or more.
* Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and maintaining accurate records of stock.
* Use handheld scanners, RF devices, or other technology to track inventory and update records.
* **Experience:**
* Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or similar environment.
* Prior experience with order picking, packing, shipping, and receiving is often required.
* Some positions may also require a valid driver's license.
* **Physical Abilities:**
* Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
* Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, and kneeling.
* **General Skills:**
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
* Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
* Effective communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and other team members.
