Job Position: Recycle Sorter
Location: HOUSTON, TX 77080
Pay Rate: $15.00/hr
Shift: 7 am-3:30 pm M-F
Description: **Core Responsibilities**
- **Manual Sorting:** Help us keep recycling on track by separating materials like paper, plastic, glass, and various metals from a fast-moving conveyor belt.
- **Quality Control:** Play a crucial role in ensuring our recycling process is clean by identifying and removing non-recyclable items—things like garden hoses, food waste, or hazardous materials—that might cause issues.
- **Equipment Operation:** Get hands-on by operating and maintaining our machinery, including balers, compactors, shredders, and sometimes forklifts.
- **Facility Maintenance:** Keep our work areas looking sharp by doing routine cleaning, such as sweeping, raking, and clearing debris from around the sorting lines.
- **Safety Compliance:** Stay safe and sound by following our safety protocols and wearing specialized Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), like cut-resistant gloves and high-visibility vests.
**Required Skills & Qualifications**
- **Education:** A high school diploma or GED is great is required.
- **Physical Demands:** Be ready to stand for longer shifts (up to 12 hours) and perform repetitive tasks in a lively environment.
- **Dexterity:** Quick hands and good hand-eye coordination are important for efficiently grabbing items off the moving conveyor belt.
- **Strength:** You’ll need to lift and move objects that weigh between 30 to 50 pounds.

- **Schedules:** You may find your shifts include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on how busy we are.
