Job Position: Reach Truck Operator

Location: Dallas, TX 75227

Pay Rate: $19.00/hr

Shift: 2nd Shift

Description: The Reach Truck Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a stand-up or sit-down Reach Truck (also known as a Narrow Aisle Reach Forklift) to move, stack, retrieve, and stage materials, components, and finished products within the warehouse's high-bay racking systems. This role is central to maintaining accurate inventory and maximizing warehouse storage capacity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reach Truck Operation: Safely and proficiently operate a Stand-Up/Sit-Down Reach Truck to put away and retrieve palletized product from racking systems, often at heights of 20 feet or more, particularly in narrow aisles.

Put-Away and Storage: Accurately transport inbound material and place it in designated rack locations, ensuring proper alignment, stability, and adherence to load capacity limits.

Order Picking: Perform high-level picking (retrieving full or partial pallets) as required to fulfill customer orders or production demands, utilizing the Reach Truck's high-reach capabilities.

Inventory Management: Use Radio Frequency (RF) scanners or a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to accurately log the movement of inventory (put-away, retrieval, relocation, and cycle counts). Report inventory discrepancies or damage immediately.

Loading/Unloading Support: Assist with the loading and unloading of inbound and outbound freight using the Reach Truck or other Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) like an Electric Pallet Jack (EPJ) or Sit-Down Forklift, as needed.

Safety & Inspection: Conduct mandated pre-shift/post-shift safety checks (e.g., fluid levels, controls, horn, lights) on the Reach Truck and report any maintenance issues or damage to the supervisor immediately.
Experience:

Minimum of [Insert Number, e.g., 1 to 2] years recent, verifiable experience operating a Stand-Up Reach Truck in a high-bay, narrow-aisle environment.

Proven track record of operating PIT equipment safely and efficiently in a high-volume warehouse, preferably in a 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) setting.

Certifications: Current or prior certification/licensing to operate a Reach Truck and other Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) as required by OSHA.

Skills:

High proficiency with RF Scanners or Voice-Picking systems and basic familiarity with WMS operations.

Excellent depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness for navigating narrow aisles and high racking.

Strong commitment to safety protocols, particularly at height.

Ability to perform physical tasks like bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs occasionally), and standing for extended periods.

Work Environment: Must be able to work in various warehouse conditions, which may include temperature-controlled areas (e.g., coolers, freezers) or unheated/non-air-conditioned spaces.
