Quality Assurance Manager – Industrial Frozen Food Manufacturing

Location: Katy/West Houston/ Sealy, TX Area | Industry: High-Volume Food Production (Frozen/Prepared Meals)

Are you an SQF Practitioner ready to lead a Tier-1 Industrial Food Facility? We are seeking a high-level Quality Assurance Manager for a premier manufacturing leader specializing in complex, high-speed frozen food production. This is a critical leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, offering the autonomy to manage site-level quality culture and the authority to drive global food safety strategy.

Note to Applicants: This is an industrial manufacturing role. We are looking for experts in production-line quality systems, not hospitality or restaurant-level QA.

What You Will Do (Key Industrial Responsibilities):

  • Audit Mastery: Spearhead all regulatory ( FDA/USDA ), customer, and 3rd party GFSI/SQF audits, maintaining "Excellent"ratings through rigorous validation.

  • Cold-Chain Science: Oversee CCPs specific to high-speed frozen manufacturing, including micro-testing, temperature stabilization, and thermal processing troubleshooting.

  • Technical ERP Management: Manage complex formula creation, nutritional analysis, and specification writing within Microsoft Dynamics AX .

  • Production Partnership: Act as the technical bridge between Operations, Procurement, and Warehousing to solve real-time industrial production challenges.

  • Lab & Sanitation Oversight: Supervise the QA team and oversee facility-wide microbiological programs and heavy-duty sanitation cycles.

Qualifications (The "Must-Haves"):

  • Industry Experience: 6–8 years of QA Leadership specifically within a Food Manufacturing Plant. (Experience with high-volume frozen foods, prepared meals, or industrial cold-chain environments is required).

  • Mandatory Certifications: You must be an active SQF Practitioner with current HACCP Certification . PCQI certification is a significant plus.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or Chemistry is strictly preferred.

  • Systems Expertise: Professional proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred) and advanced mathematical skills for formula management and waste trending.

  • Bilingual Capability: Fluency in English/Spanish is a significant advantage for floor-level leadership and training.

  • The "Floor-First"Mindset: This is a hands-on manufacturing role. You must be comfortable spending 50% of your time on the production floor engaging with the workforce.
