Job Summary

Our client who is a leading contributor to the retail industry located in Ft. Worth, Texas is currently seeking Press Brake Operators. This is a temp position with a great opportunity to join a dynamic team full time.

Responsibility

The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the Dener XL 3000 x 100 press brake to bend, form, and shape metal materials according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and production specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of metal fabrication principles, precision measurement, and a commitment to safety and quality. The operator will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate production of bent components while maintaining the integrity and optimal performance of the Dener XL 3000 x 100 machine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate the Dener XL 3000 x 100 press brake, including selecting and installing appropriate tooling (punches and dies) based on material type, thickness, and bend radius.

  • Load and unload raw materials (sheet metal, plate) onto the machine.

  • Program the Dener XL 3000 x 100's CNC controls, inputting bend angles, back gauge positions, and other parameters from blueprints or job travelers.

  • Perform test bends and make adjustments to machine settings to achieve desired dimensions and angles.

  • Monitor machine operation to ensure proper feeding, alignment, and bending.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues or material feeding problems.

  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy, ensuring they meet specified dimensions, angles, and tolerances using precision measuring tools (calipers, protractors, squares, tape measures).

  • Identify and report any non-conforming parts or quality issues to the supervisor.

  • Perform regular quality checks throughout the production run.

  • Safely handle and position materials, which may include using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.

  • Organize and stage materials for upcoming jobs.

  • Account for material usage and scrap.

  • Perform routine daily maintenance checks on the Dener XL 3000 x 100, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventative maintenance.

  • Identify and report any machine malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Accurately complete production logs, quality control sheets, and other required documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other team members regarding production status, issues, and improvements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in metal fabrication or machining is a plus.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating CNC press brakes, with specific experience on the Dener XL 3000 x 100 preferred.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and shop orders.

  • Strong understanding of metal bending principles, including bend deduction, k-factor, and spring back.

  • Experience with various types of metal (e.g., steel, stainless steel, aluminum) and their bending characteristics.

  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools (calipers, protractors, tape measures, squares).

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including fractions and decimals.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Commitment to safety and quality.

  • Physical ability to lift and move materials, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing plant environment.

  • Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

  • May require lifting heavy materials and prolonged standing.

  • Overtime may be required based on production demands.
