Description: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair and upkeep of industrial machinery, production equipment, and the physical facility. The role focuses on minimizing downtime through aggressive preventive maintenance and rapid emergency repairs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Machinery Repair: Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and large production machines (including extrusion presses). Electrical Maintenance: Maintain and repair electrical systems, including single-phase and three-phase electricity, motors, and PLC-controlled equipment. Preventive Maintenance (PM): Perform routine inspections, lubricate bearings, check fluid levels, and replace filters to ensure optimal machine performance. Facilities Support: Handle general building maintenance, including lighting, basic plumbing, carpentry, and painting of common areas. Fabrication: Use machine shop tools (lathes, grinders) and welding equipment (cutting torches) to fabricate or repair machine parts and jigs. Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to OSHA standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Technical Requirements Experience: 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience (Aluminum extrusion experience is a plus). Skill Set: Strong proficiency in mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical troubleshooting. Documentation: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer’s operations manuals. Tools: Must own basic hand tools; specialty tools and precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers) are typically provided. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Physicality: Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50–75 lbs consistently. Mobility: Frequent standing, walking, bending, crawling, and climbing throughout a 10–12 hour shift. Environment: Must be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing plant (exposure to heat and noise). Schedule: Often requires 12-hour shifts; willingness to work weekends or "on-call"rotations is usually mandatory.
