Job Position: Maintenance Tech 1

Location: Lewisville, TX 75067

Pay Rate: $25.00/hr - DOE.

Shift: 1st shift starting time may vary between 5:30am - 8:30am till finish (8-10hrs shifts)

Description: Maintenance Tech 1



Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for ensuring the integrity of production equipment and plant facilities, adhering to Company, USDA, and FDA standards. This role requires extensive knowledge and experience in developing and managing maintenance systems to ensure the production of food-safe products and maximize equipment up time. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and federal and state environmental regulations, while also driving industry best practices, including Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Environmental programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

  • Equipment Operation & Troubleshooting

  • Start up and operate production machinery and equipment, with a thorough understanding of all machine functions.

  • Respond promptly to calls from production lines.

  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines. PLC knowledge is preferred.

  • Diagnose problems, perform repairs, and conduct root cause analysis.

  • Rebuild cylinders, valves, pumps, and, at times, fabricate parts for emergency breakdowns.

  • Responding to maintenance calls and completing work orders promptly.

  • Managing spare parts inventory and suggesting re-orders.

  • Performing basic office facility repairs.

  • Maintaining an organized work environment and tools.

  • Troubleshooting, identifying worn parts, and rebuilding machine assemblies, pumps, valves, actuators, and other equipment.

  • Basic understanding of Root Cause Analysis.

  • Actively participate in facility maintenance and preventive maintenance programs.

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.

  • Execute a variety of preventative maintenance tasks on machine parts, pumps, motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and related plant and facility equipment.

  • Complete work orders and respond to maintenance calls in a timely manner.

  • Perform basic repairs within the office facility, including furniture, HVAC, restroom fixtures, unclogging drains, and lighting system.

  • Inventory spare parts and report usage, suggesting re-orders to the Manager.

  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area and properly maintain tools.

  • Adhere to all safety procedures and participate in safety training.

  • Maintain safe and efficient use of electrical meters, gauges, and basic tools.

  • Report any injury, accident, or unsafe condition immediately to supervisory personnel.

  • Proactive, confident, and energetic, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
    Technically oriented and comfortable working around machinery in a plant environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effective communication with all levels of the organization and external contacts.

  • Seasonal exposure to extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.

  • Daily exposure to elements such as food-grade grease, oils, and noise.

  • Daily exposure to physical risks, including working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, and electrical hazards.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or 3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to stand, walk around production lines and the plant, sit at a desk, carry packages up to 75 pounds, utilize fine dexterity, reach, and kneel daily.

  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate professionally with associates and others.

  • Ability to work at heights of 20 feet or higher.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Experience with Cooling Towers is a plus.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills, including the ability to read wire diagrams, schematics, and logic ladders.
