Straw Machine Operator Job Description
Position Summary:
Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in the production of plastic or paper straws. This role ensures consistent product quality, efficient machine performance, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Operate straw production machinery according to established procedures and safety guidelines

Perform regular quality checks (e.g., straw length, diameter, color, straightness)

Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine malfunctions

Maintain accurate production records and downtime logs

Ensure correct packaging materials are used for each production run

Perform start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Communicate effectively with team members and shift leads

Follow lock-out/tag-out protocols when servicing equipment
Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Ability to perform quality inspections and complete documentation

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Strong attention to detail and time management

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Familiarity with GMP and 5S practices is a plus
