❄️ Cold Storage Fulfillment Associate
Job Summary
The Cold Storage Fulfillment Associate is responsible for accurately picking, packing, and preparing frozen and/or refrigerated goods for shipment or transport within a multi-temperature controlled warehouse environment. This role requires disciplined adherence to safety protocols, strict temperature control procedures, and high efficiency to meet daily fulfillment targets while working in sustained cold conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* **Order Picking:** Locate and retrieve specific products from freezer or cooler storage racks based on customer orders, using RF scanners, pick sheets, or WMS systems.
* **Packing & Preparation:** Execute proper packing techniques for cold chain integrity, ensuring items are correctly insulated, labeled, and prepared for final shipment to maintain temperature requirements.
* **Loading & Unloading:** Assist with the manual loading and unloading of trucks, staging pallets, and transporting goods between temperature zones using manual pallet jacks.
* **Inventory Accuracy:** Conduct cycle counts and location audits to maintain accurate inventory levels. Identify and report any product damage, expired inventory, or discrepancies.
* **Temperature Integrity:** Monitor and record temperatures as required. Ensure rapid movement of products through the warm zones (e.g., dock) to minimize exposure and maintain product quality.
* **Safety & Compliance:** Operate material handling equipment (e.g., manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack - certification preferred) safely within narrow aisles. Adhere strictly to HACCP, FDA, OSHA, and company sanitation and safety procedures, especially concerning handling perishable goods.
* **Maintenance:** Assist with general warehouse organization and cleanliness, including regular cleanup of spills and removal of debris in cold storage areas.
Qualifications and Requirements
* **Experience:** Previous experience (minimum 6 months) in a warehouse, fulfillment, distribution, or logistics role is preferred. Experience specifically in a **cold storage, freezer, or refrigerated environment** is highly advantageous.
* **Physical Requirements:**
* Must be able to work continuously in cold temperatures for the entire shift. **Proper cold-weather gear will be provided and must be worn at all times.**
* Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
* Ability to handle rapid temperature changes when moving between freezer, cooler, and ambient areas.
* **Skills:**
* Proficient with or ability to quickly learn **RF Scanners** and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity targets.
* Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning for stacking and packaging.
* **Work Environment:** Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime, based on operational demands.
