Job Position: coater painter

Location: Plano, TX 75074

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr

Description: Responsibilities: The Powder Coater is responsible for the proper coating of all parts. Being able to identify and select the correct type of powder for a job as well as understand the technical data to insure proper application are needed in this position. A powder coater will need to be able to visually inspect both the masked surfaces before application of the coat and the finished coating to make sure the part will be accepted. Employee may be asked to cross function within the department if needed. Must know how to use the software, Epicor, to enter job specifications and look up production information such as due dates or a BOM. The powder coater must be willing to act as a team member and aim to exceed all lead requests. Goals: Specific metrics include but are not limited to: 1. Timely Delivery: achieve 98% on time delivery 2. Quality: achieve 98% internal yield, 99.5% customer acceptance 3. Efficiency: 95% 4. Profitability: support the profitability objectives of every part manufactured Reports To: Powder Coaters will need to report directly to the lead to ensure their success by following responsibilities, including but are not limited to: Metrics: Follow team metrics laid out by the lead; maintain the strategy used to keep pace with production needs; must be able to interpret job documents such as blueprints and travelers; able to document application process including MIL thickness and batch information; must be able to coat parts within the accepted guidelines of efficiency. Team Performance: Follow all expectations and performance standards set by the lead; make sure to have the knowledge and skills needed to perform the job; able to properly weigh powder in and out; can properly cure coating for selected powders; can verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications; attend all training sessions set up by the lead. Team Work: Help other team members when they need assistance; ask lead for any assistance needed. Work Environment: Strive to maintain an ethical, non-discriminatory and safe work environment; follow effective communication lines/methods; see manager for any conflict and problems that occur; properly maintain equipment and inspection tools used; follow all safety rules; maintain a clean and organized working environment. Continuous Improvement: Visually inspect the part at all required stages to prevent customer rejection; aim for no NCMR reports by inspecting parts to the blueprint; always strive for improvement in product efficiency and quality. Status Reporting: Update lead on status of jobs when requested. Special Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior paint shop experience requested. Effort Factors: Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs of parts. Manual dexterity of both hands is needed as well as 20/20 vision (can be corrected with glasses) to visualize blueprints and parts clearly. Required to stand for prolonged periods on your feet.
