We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / CAD Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role combines advanced CNC programming with CAD design and technical troubleshooting to produce high-precision components. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, experience with CNC equipment, and proficiency in CAD software, contributing to efficient production processes and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Develop and modify CNC programs for milling machines, lathes, and other machining equipment using Fanuc controls and CAM software.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical documentation to ensure accurate manufacturing.
Operate CNC machinery such as CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
Utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions.
Set up tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters for various projects while maintaining safety protocols.
Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to machining processes or tooling.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing workflows using lean manufacturing principles.
Assist in designing parts or assemblies using SolidWorks and other CAD software for prototyping or production purposes.
Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, adjustments, and quality checks for traceability.
Requirements
Proven experience with CNC programming, including G-code editing and CAM software such as Mastercam or similar platforms.
Strong knowledge of GD&T principles, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawing interpretation.
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or equivalent for designing parts and assemblies.
Hands-on experience with CNC machining centers including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes (Fanuc controls preferred).
Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding, welding, and assembly processes is a plus.
Ability to operate precision measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations.
Knowledge of tooling setup, hand tools, power tools, and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working within lean manufacturing environments is desirable.
Ability to operate forklifts or power tools as needed; relevant certifications are advantageous.
