Description: Key Responsibilities: Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: Understand and follow technical drawings to accurately fit and weld structural parts. Preparing Materials: Prepare metal surfaces for welding, including measuring, cutting, and assembling. Setting up Equipment: Adjust the MIG welding machine settings, including amperage, voltage, gas flow, and wire feed speed. Performing Welds: Use a welding gun to fuse metal parts together, creating a strong and durable bond. Testing and Inspecting Welds: Check welds for cracks, defects, and porosity to ensure quality. Maintaining Equipment: Keep welding equipment clean and in good working order. Troubleshooting and Repair: Identify and fix any issues with welding equipment or the welding process. Following Safety Standards: Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Required Skills: MIG Welding Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to operate MIG welding equipment and perform various welding techniques. Blueprint Reading: Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings. Metalworking Knowledge: Familiarity with different types of metals, alloys, and their welding properties. Safety Awareness: Understanding and adherence to safety regulations and procedures. Problem-solving: Ability to identify and resolve welding issues. Physical Stamina: The ability to lift and move heavy materials.
