Position: Shipping Department – General Labor / Rug Handler
We are currently hiring General Labor associates to work in the Shipping Department of a busy rug distribution center. This position is responsible for handling, preparing, and organizing rugs for shipment. Employees will work as part of a team to unwrap, inspect, flip, re-roll, and prepare rugs according to shipping requirements.
Job Responsibilities

Unwrap rugs and remove packaging materials.

Carefully flip and reposition rugs as needed.

Roll rugs back up on the opposite side to ensure they are properly prepared for shipment.

Handle rugs of various sizes, weights, and materials.

Lift, carry, push, pull, and move rugs throughout the warehouse.

Prepare completed rugs for staging and shipment.

Organize rugs in designated areas according to instructions.

Assist with loading and unloading materials when needed.

Inspect rugs for visible damage, incorrect placement, or packaging issues and report concerns to a supervisor.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Follow all warehouse safety procedures and company guidelines.

Work efficiently while meeting established productivity expectations.

Assist other departments or perform additional warehouse duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and move heavy rugs and materials throughout the shift.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling.

Ability to kneel, squat, and work in different positions when handling rugs.

Comfortable performing repetitive movements throughout the workday.

Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Must be able to safely handle large and bulky materials with a team when required.
Qualifications

Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material-handling experience is preferred but not required.

Must be dependable and maintain good attendance.

Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

Must be able to work well with others and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Must be safety-conscious and willing to follow proper lifting and handling procedures.

Must be comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout the shift.
This is a hands-on warehouse position that requires employees to stay active and productive throughout the day while handling and preparing rugs for shipment.
