Tire Shop Technician
Pay Rate:
$14–$16 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Summary:
A Tire Shop Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and replacing tires on various types of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and commercial vehicles. The role ensures proper tire installation, balancing, and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations to maximize vehicle safety and performance. This position requires mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and effective customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation

Remove and install tires on a variety of vehicles

Repair punctured or damaged tires using appropriate tools and materials

Perform tire balancing and rotations to promote even tread wear

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Communicate effectively with front counter staff for customer recommendations

Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and DOT regulations
Qualifications: -
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Previous experience as a tire technician (preferred but not required)

Ability to lift heavy tires and safely operate tire-changing and balancing equipment (training provided)

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Good communication and customer service skills

Familiarity with DOT tire safety standards and compliance is a plus
