Job Position: Metal Facility-2nd shift Forklift Loader
Location: WYLIE, TX 75098
Pay Rate: $17.00/hr
Shift: 2nd Shift 6pm-6am Monday-Friday
Description: Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Forklift Loader to join our production team in Wylie. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement of raw aluminum materials and finished extruded products throughout our facility. You will play a critical part in ensuring that our shipping bays are organized and that production lines remain supplied to meet strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Material Transport: Safely operate heavy-duty forklifts (including side-loaders or large capacity lifts) to move long-length aluminum profiles and heavy dies.
Loading/Unloading: Efficiently load finished goods onto flatbeds and trailers, ensuring loads are balanced, secured, and meet weight distribution requirements.
Inventory Accuracy: Use RF scanners or manual logs to track material movement, ensuring the warehouse management system reflects real-time stock levels.
Quality Control: Perform visual inspections of products before loading to ensure packaging integrity and identify any surface defects.
Safety Compliance: Conduct daily pre-operation equipment inspections and strictly adhere to OSHA standards and internal "Safety First"protocols.
Staging: Organize the yard and warehouse floor to optimize space and ensure quick access for the shipping department.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing or industrial environment (experience with long/bulky loads preferred).
Certifications: Valid forklift operator certification (or the ability to pass our internal certification within the first week).
Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled plant environment and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Precision: High level of spatial awareness to navigate tight aisles and stack materials at significant heights.
Reliability: Strong attendance record and the ability to work overtime or weekends during peak production cycles.
