You will ensure that all inbound and outbound shipments are processed accurately and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead a team of 5–15 material handlers to achieve daily shipping and receiving targets.

2. Inventory & Documentation

  • Perform and oversee daily cycle counts and physical inventory audits.

  • Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) .

  • Resolve discrepancies between physical stock and digital records.

  • Maintain organized "5S"workstations to maximize floor space and pick speed.

3. Shipping & Receiving Oversight

  • Coordinate the unloading of trailers and verify packing slips against physical goods.

  • Quality-check outgoing shipments to ensure correct labeling and secure packaging.

  • Schedule and check-in third-party freight carriers and small-parcel drivers.

4. Safety & Equipment Maintenance

  • Serve as the primary safety officer on the floor; report all "near misses"and accidents immediately.

  • Perform daily pre-shift inspections on forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet jacks.

  • Ensure the warehouse remains compliant with OSHA regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a senior or coordinator capacity.

  • Licensing: Current or previous certification in Material Handling Equipment (MHE) like Forklifts (Sit-down/Stand-up), Reach Trucks, or Order Pickers.

  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in WMS software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Manhattan) and handheld RF scanners.

  • Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs consistently and spend the majority of the shift standing or walking.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.

  • High school diploma or GED (Associates degree in Logistics is a plus).

  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are often highly valued in this role.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Order Accuracy: Achieving a 99% or higher pick/pack accuracy rate.

  • Dock-to-Stock Time: Reducing the time it takes to get received goods into a shippable location.

  • Safety Incidents: Maintaining a zero-accident record for the shift.
