Description: Job Summary
The Event Staff member is responsible for providing excellent customer service while ensuring the safety and security of all guests, performers, and staff throughout the event. Key functions include managing guest entry, enforcing facility policies, and conducting thorough security screening, including bag and cooler checks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Guest Services & Conduct:
Greet guests with a friendly and professional demeanor, providing directions and answering basic event-related questions.
Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter unauthorized entry, theft, or misconduct.
Enforce facility policies (e.g., no smoking, no re-entry, restricted items) in a fair and courteous manner.
Identify and report disorderly conduct or other policy violations to supervisors immediately.
Manage lines and direct guests efficiently through designated entry points (gates, doors, etc.).
Verify and scan tickets, passes, or credentials for validity.
Perform wanding/pat-down procedures and metal detector screening as required by security protocol.
Serve as a Bag Checker or Cooler Checker as assigned (see specific duties below).
Specific Screening Duties (Bag/Cooler Checker):
Bag Checkers are responsible for visually and physically inspecting all bags, purses, backpacks, and other containers carried by guests entering the facility.
Confirm bag size adheres to the venue's policy.
Search for and confiscate prohibited items (e.g., weapons, illegal substances, external food/drink not permitted).
Clearly and politely explain policy to guests regarding any confiscated or prohibited items.
Cooler Checkers are responsible for inspecting all coolers and food/beverage containers.
Verify the container size complies with venue rules.
Ensure no prohibited liquids (e.g., alcohol where not allowed) or outside food items are brought into the facility against policy.
Check for prohibited glass containers or other materials.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often up to 4 hours at a time.
Ability to work in various weather conditions (indoors and outdoors).
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to physically bend, stoop, and reach to perform thorough bag and cooler inspections.
