Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Trucking Dispatcher with experience managing the dispatch process from start to finish. The ideal candidate understands the demands of over-the-road (OTR) trucking and can effectively coordinate loads, drivers, dispatchers, and transportation management systems to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

This role requires strong communication, organization, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks while maintaining accurate information across all company systems.

Key Responsibilities
Load Sourcing and Booking: Assist with finding available loads, confirming load details, and finalizing bookings.
TMS Data Entry: Enter, update, and maintain accurate load information in our Transportation Management System (TMS-EZ).
Driver Coordination: Communicate with drivers regarding load assignments, pickup and delivery schedules, progress updates, delays, and operational issues.
Team Coordination: Work closely with other dispatchers to ensure smooth communication, effective handoffs, and consistent operational coverage.
Data Accuracy and Reconciliation: Verify that load details, schedules, documentation, and other relevant information match across all systems used by the company.
Load Tracking and Monitoring: Monitor active loads, follow up on delivery progress, and help resolve issues as they arise.
Problem Resolution: Respond promptly to unexpected changes, delays, and other challenges that may affect drivers or load schedules.
Communication and Documentation: Maintain timely communication with drivers, brokers, fellow dispatchers, and other relevant parties while keeping records complete and accurate.
Schedule and Hybrid Work Arrangement
The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining in-office and remote work.

Standard hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
Office attendance: A minimum of three days per week in the office is expected, with the remaining workdays performed remotely, depending on operational requirements.
Schedule transition: We are transitioning from a combination of day and night dispatching to a daytime-focused schedule for a temporary period. The duration of this transition has not yet been determined.
Schedule flexibility: Candidates must be comfortable with potential scheduling adjustments as business needs and dispatch coverage requirements evolve.
Important: OTR Operations Require 24/7 Coverage
Over-the-road trucking is a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week operation. Trucks may be moving at any hour, and delays, breakdowns, delivery changes, and other unexpected situations can arise outside standard business hours.

A 24/7 operational coverage requirement is non-negotiable. Candidates must understand the demands of OTR dispatching and be prepared to meet the after-hours, weekend, holiday, or rotating coverage expectations established for this position.

Although the standard daytime hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, these hours do not eliminate the need for continuous dispatch coverage while trucks are operating. Specific scheduling and coverage arrangements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Qualifications
Previous trucking dispatch experience, preferably in OTR operations.
Understanding of the dispatch process, including load sourcing, booking, driver coordination, tracking, and delivery follow-up.
Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS); TMS-EZ experience is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records across multiple systems.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, and resolve time-sensitive issues.
Reliable, organized, accountable, and capable of working independently in a hybrid environment.
Willingness to adapt to changing schedules and meet established OTR coverage requirements.
What Success Looks Like
The successful candidate will help keep loads moving efficiently, ensure drivers and dispatchers remain informed, maintain accurate information across all systems, and support reliable coverage throughout the dispatch process.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities, communicates proactively, follows through on tasks, and understands that accuracy and reliability are essential in trucking operations.

If you have hands-on OTR dispatch experience and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, 24/7 industry, we encourage you to apply.

One important point to settle before publishing: Does “24/7, no exemptions” mean the dispatcher personally must be available around the clock, or that the dispatch team must maintain continuous coverage through scheduled shifts and handoffs? Those are very different job expectations. Clarifying this will help attract candidates who are a good fit and avoid misunderstandings about the 7:30 AM–4:00 PM schedule.
