Job Position: Direct Hire-Process Technician
Location: GARLAND, TX 75041
Pay Rate: $21 Plus DOE
Description: The Process Technician provides critical manufacturing support by optimizing and maintaining production processes. The primary goal is to ensure high-quality part production while minimizing scrap and downtime. This individual is responsible for machine setup, troubleshooting, and ensuring that all production cycles meet established Master Process standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Machine Startup & Optimization: Perform first-piece startup and process verification activities to ensure the machine is running according to the Master Process Monitoring Sheet (MPMS).
Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to calls from operators regarding product or process concerns; identify and correct defects such as flash, short shots, or warping.
Equipment Setup: Set up assembly and decorating equipment per the Master Process Control Sheet. Verify End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) for robots and initiate proper programming or cam settings.
Documentation & Compliance: Ensure the correct Master Process Monitoring Sheet is at the press during every mold, material, or insert change. Log process verification checks as defined by the MPMS.
Maintenance Coordination: Identify necessary machine and tool repairs and initiate the appropriate work orders to minimize production interruptions.
Quality Assurance: Complete assigned areas of the First Piece Approval documents to verify that parts meet customer specifications before full production begins.
Qualifications
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, specifically with plastic injection molding.
Technical Knowledge: * Solid understanding of molding process parameters (temperature, pressure, and injection speed).
Familiarity with auxiliary equipment, including resin dryers and thermolators.
Skills: * Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and product drawings.
Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages and proportions.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred for effective communication across all levels of the floor team.
Education: High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical movement and exertion.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
