Pay Rate: $18.00-$20.00 DOE
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Job Summary:
A local home medical equipment company is URGENTLY hiring a
Bilingual Medical Collections Specialist
. The Medical Collections Specialist is responsible for managing and collecting outstanding patient and insurance balances while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Contact patients and insurance companies to collect outstanding balances

Review and follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims

Explain charges, payment options, and insurance benefits to patients

Negotiate payment arrangements and process payments
-
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FDCPA, and company policies

Document all collection activities accurately in billing systems

Research billing discrepancies and resolve account issues

Work closely with billing, coding, and insurance departments

Meet or exceed collection performance goals
Required Experience:

Proficient in English and Spanish

High school diploma or equivalent
-
1+ year experience in medical billing, collections, or healthcare revenue cycle

Knowledge of insurance plans, EOBs, and medical terminology

Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance

Strong customer service and negotiation skills

Proficient in medical billing software and MS Office

Ability to handle sensitive information professionally
