Press Mounter Assistant

Pay Rate:$18.02/hour
Shift: Day Shift – 5:30 AM–5:30 PM
Schedule: A Shift – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday
Location: Rockwall, TX

Job Summary

The Press Mounter Assistant supports the Press Mounters by organizing, preparing, and mounting printing plates onto prepared sleeves. These sleeves are used on printing presses that produce designs of up to ten colors on rolls of polyethylene film.

The successful candidate must be able to work safely and accurately in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality and production standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Review press schedules and prioritize jobs that need to be mounted.

• Review work orders, color controls, art proofs, and print samples.

• Gather and inspect sleeves, printing plates, proofs, and other required components.

• Set up and operate the mounter/proofer for micro-dot plate mounting according to established procedures.

• Assist with mounting printing plates and ensure proper registration.

• Complete and audit production paperwork, including Daily Production Sheets.

• Demount plates after the press production run.

• Clean plates and remove ink and foreign material.

• Properly store plates in designated boxes and return them to the plate storage system.

• Manufacture plates as required.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the prepress and plate mounting areas in accordance with AIB standards.

• Perform basic maintenance on the plate cleaner.

• Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures.

• Work overtime as needed to cover vacations, call-ins, or increased workload.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• General printing experience required.

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to follow written instructions, work orders, and production specifications.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and move throughout the work area for extended periods.

• Must be able to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Must be able to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.
