Job Summary:
A Lumper is responsible for loading, unloading, sorting, and moving products within a warehouse, distribution center, or shipping area. This role requires physical strength, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Load and unload trailers, containers, and trucks manually or with equipment
Move, stack, and organize products such as boxes, pallets, rugs, or materials in designated areas
Assist with sorting, labeling, and staging freight for shipment or storage
Inspect products for visible damage during loading and unloading
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Follow all warehouse safety procedures and company policies
Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding workflow or issues
Perform other warehouse duties as assigned
Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50–75 lbs or more) repeatedly
Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift for long periods
Comfortable working in hot, cold, or non-climate-controlled environments
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Previous warehouse or unloading experience preferred but not always required
