Description: Janitor/Custodian – Rug Warehouse
Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse facility. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing breakrooms, bathrooms, offices, and common areas, emptying trash, sweeping and mopping floors, and restocking cleaning supplies as needed. Must be flexible with hours and days as needed based on production and business needs.
We are currently seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Janitor/Custodian to join our team at a busy rug warehouse. The Janitor/Custodian will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout the facility. This position is an important part of daily warehouse operations and requires someone who takes pride in their work and can consistently maintain cleanliness in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize employee bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, and other surfaces.

Clean and maintain breakrooms, including tables, countertops, sinks, floors, and other common areas.

Sweep, mop, and clean warehouse floors and designated work areas.

Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the facility and replace liners as needed.

Clean and maintain offices, hallways, entryways, and other common areas.

Dust and wipe down surfaces, doors, windows, and frequently touched areas.

Restock bathroom and breakroom supplies, including paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and other necessary items.

Maintain cleanliness around warehouse and production areas.

Clean up spills and other messes promptly to help maintain a safe working environment.

Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, leaks, or safety concerns to management.

Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored when not in use.

Follow proper cleaning procedures and workplace safety guidelines.

Assist with additional cleaning duties as needed based on production and facility needs.

Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working around warehouse employees and production staff.

Perform other janitorial and general cleaning duties assigned by management.
Qualifications:

Previous janitorial, custodial, warehouse cleaning, or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required.

Must be reliable, punctual, and dependable.

Must have strong attention to detail and take pride in maintaining a clean environment.

Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment.

Must be able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.

Must be willing to perform repetitive cleaning and physical tasks throughout the workday.

Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.

Must be flexible and willing to adjust the work schedule based on production needs.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires standing and walking for extended periods throughout the workday. The employee may be required to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift cleaning supplies, trash bags, and other materials. The ability to safely perform routine cleaning duties in a warehouse environment is required.
Schedule & Flexibility:
The regular schedule is 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. However, this position requires flexibility with the schedule. Start times, end times, or scheduled days may occasionally change depending on production levels, facility needs, or business operations. Candidates must be willing to adjust their schedule when needed.
Pay: $16.00 per hour
