Job Summary
We are currently seeking a dependable and hardworking Cherry Picker / Order Picker to join our rug warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a cherry picker/order picker lift to locate, retrieve, and move rugs and other warehouse products throughout the facility.
This position requires someone who is comfortable working at various heights, following detailed order instructions, operating warehouse equipment safely, and performing physical warehouse duties. The right candidate should be reliable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Safely operate a cherry picker/order picker to retrieve rugs, boxes, and other warehouse merchandise from designated storage locations.

Pick customer orders accurately according to pick tickets, labels, RF scanners, or warehouse instructions.

Locate products in assigned warehouse aisles, racks, and storage areas.
-
Verify product numbers, descriptions, quantities, sizes, colors, and other identifying information before pulling merchandise.

Safely raise and lower the equipment while retrieving products from elevated storage locations.

Place picked merchandise on pallets, carts, or designated staging areas.

Move rugs and other products from storage locations to the appropriate packing, shipping, or staging areas.

Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.

Use proper lifting and handling techniques when moving rugs and warehouse materials.

Inspect merchandise for visible damage and report damaged or incorrect products to a supervisor.

Maintain accurate inventory and communicate inventory discrepancies to management.

Keep work areas, aisles, and storage locations clean and organized.

Follow all warehouse safety procedures and company policies.

Complete daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns immediately.

Operate warehouse equipment only as trained and authorized.

Follow all instructions regarding proper storage and handling of rugs.

Work safely around forklifts, pallet jacks, other warehouse equipment, and coworkers.

Assist other warehouse departments when needed.

Meet daily productivity and accuracy expectations.

Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements
This position is physically active and requires the ability to:

Stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Frequently bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and climb in and out of warehouse equipment.

Lift and move rugs, boxes, and other warehouse materials.

Handle products of different sizes, shapes, and weights.

Work at elevated heights while operating an order picker/cherry picker.

Safely maneuver equipment through warehouse aisles and around inventory.

Perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.

Work in a warehouse environment that may be hot, cold, dusty, or noisy depending on conditions.
Qualifications

Previous cherry picker, order picker, warehouse, or material-handling experience preferred.

Experience operating an order picker/cherry picker is strongly preferred.

Ability to safely work at elevated heights.

Ability to read and understand basic warehouse instructions, labels, and pick tickets.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.

Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Must be safety-conscious and willing to follow all company safety procedures.

Previous experience in a rug, furniture, home décor, distribution, or similar warehouse environment is a plus.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who is dependable, motivated, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a warehouse environment. This person should take pride in completing orders accurately and efficiently while properly handling merchandise.
Experience operating a cherry picker or order picker is highly preferred, but candidates with strong warehouse experience and a willingness to learn may also be considered depending on the position requirements.
